OF THE RED CROSS OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

This year, the Red Cross of RNM celebrates the 80^th anniversary of the foundation of our organization. We are proud of our achievements and always ready to face new challenges that involve providing humanitarian support to those exposed to risks and crises. We learn from the past and the accomplishments of the many volunteers and staff who, over the course of 80 years, continuously contributed to the development of our organization and the improvement of the lives of vulnerable populations in the country and globally.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its foundation, the Red Cross of RNM will organize a series of activities to mark the jubilee and raise awareness on the importance of the Red Cross at the national level as an organization that is a tireless humanitarian driver of positive changes in society and a constant advocate for the protection of the dignity and well-being of the citizens of our country. The patron of the 80^th anniversary celebration is the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mrs. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova. On March 18, a ceremonial academy and a special exhibition will be held at the Macedonian National Theater, in presence international and domestic guests.

The grand jubilee will also be marked with various activities at local and national levels, such as organizing special events with representatives of all local self-governments across the country and panel discussions at universities throughout the country. These discussions will focus on the role and position of the Red Cross within society, as well as the contribution and participation of all social actors in building strong local communities and creating new initiatives and activities to ensure complementary contributions in coping with the various challenges in the humanitarian field.

Throughout the year, other events will also be organized in the Red Cross Branches and the City Red Cross of Skopje under the motto “We See People,” highlighting the fundamental commitment of our organization to care for people and protect human dignity.
